Christian Women’s Fellowship
CWF is a group for women with a common purpose: to share Christ’s love with others. CWF provides opportunities for spiritual growth, enrichment, education, and creative ministries to enable women a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the church of Jesus Christ.
Service is a focal point, from international projects to nation-wide missions to local missions. Each fall we collect and create layettes to be distributed through Church Women United to Church World Service and local Head Start programs. Four to five times annually, we provide a hot meal to a local meal site, to give nourishment and fellowship to those in need. Two other local missions we support throughout the year are Winnie’s Place and the Churches United Food Pantry. For Winnie’s Place, we collect items that are continually in need, as well as providing bus tokens and food store gift cards. Food Pantry is collected and delivered monthly, with a special emphasis during November for Thanksgiving. CWF also supports the local Salvation Army, Christian Family Care Center, and Christian Friendliness.
Within our church, CWF provides fellowship opportunities for church members. Potlucks, church dinners, and coffee hours are all times for socializing and spiritual growth. We offer our services to families who have lost a loved one, to give them a worry-free time to grieve with family and friends, without the stress of preparing a meal.
None of this would be possible without our fundraising activities which include the cookie walk, selling Quad Cities Dining Tour Books, and participating in the Younker’s fall Community Days.
- CWF meets on the first Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., in the church fellowship hall.
- Meetings are held September – December, and March through May.
- The Esther & Naomi Group meets on the third Tuesday of each month, September – June.
We invite all women who are interested to visit with us.
